About Short Hill & Western
Short Hill & Western was originally started about 35 years ago and then put on hold several times. It started in Hawthorne Ca. building a small 30' x 17' model railroad in a friends basement. Many lessons were learned and respected individuals in the hobby visited and assisted frequently. The Model Railroad was to be called Short Hill & Western. The logo used today was the herald created for the railroad. The dream was born there and has always been with me and has never diminished. So here I am bringing once again this dream to reality.
Being involved in the Model Railroad Industry as a fine scale modeler, builder, designer and operator for over 30+ years I am bringing my expertise and knowledge to this business. Additionally I bring the knowledge of my other endeavors with me in fields of Computer Science, Engineering, Manufacturing and the list goes on.
Over the last few years SH & W has added 3D printing capabilities tied to the CAD design process for our part master creation, and recently Laser Cutting and Engraving abilities.
I have had a store on EBay for several years selling the Tunnel Portals I produce as a side line. I have had nothing but great responses from those who have bought them.
My mission is to provide the finest and highest quality products available to the market at the most reasonable cost to our customers. With exacting standards that encompasses hours of research, various design phases, fabrication of mold masters, pre-production build up, instructional material and Quality Control we are certain you will find SH & W products to be the finest available.
Additionally I plan to help promote the hobby through instruction and informational videos on Short Hill & Western's YouTube channel. I dream of a Pod Cast or Video Series on one of those DIY channels with other authorities in the industry sharing their expertise. What better way to promote the hobby!
With a large amount of products planned for production I also look forward to receiving comments from customers with suggestions for products they would like to see us produce. Use the "Contact Us" form for this.
I thank you for your time and look forward to serving your hobby needs.
Sincerely,
Jeff Hill
